3: live performances

3.1: fleming and john have supported ben folds five on tour on numerous occassions.

3.2: who has supported them??????

3.3: all we can do is suggest that you look at the concert reviews from various people who have seen live shows.

3.4: recording/photography they appear not to mind…just so long as they don't get to know anything about it. technically it is illegal but many bands don't mind trading between fans.

4: instruments

clavinet
theremin:
that makes this instrument so extraordinary is that to create music, the player does not actually touch it. radio frequency oscillators are used to create the sounds which are amplified and heard through the loud speaker. the frequency of one oscillator may be varied by the capacity change caused in an associate circuit by moving one's hand towards or away from the pitch control rod. an additional oscillator provides radio frequency current for heating a filament which controls the volume of the pitch. this oscillator is again affected by the movement of your hand towards or away from the looped volume control rod. simply put, you create sound by moving your hands close to or away from two antennae which control pitch and volume. timpani
chimes

flugelhorn
balalaika:
one of the best known members of the traditional lute family from central asia is the balalaika, an instrument which has a distinctive, triangular shaped body. characteristically, they also have a long thin neck and a single circular or patterned sound hole in their bodies. some models have two strings, but most have three made from string or gut which are tuned to intervals of a fourth, and plucked with a pick (or plectrum). there are at least six sizes of balalaika.
vibes
pump organ
tabla
lap steel
dilruba

porta chord
duclimer
udu:
from them you will hear deep bass tones, tabla-like qualities, the tonal variations of the african talking drum, and many other sounds.
oud
saz
buhl buhl
harmonium snaps
rain stick
space phone
